The Ada County Highway District is excited to welcome its two newest members of the Commission.
Representing the District 2 is Commissioner Alexis Pickering who grew up in North-Central Idaho on the Nez Perce Reservation. She has earned degrees in English and Political Science and master’s degrees in Health Science and Health Policy. She is currently employed as a health strategist for Central District Health, and has worked with the private sector, cities, non-profits, and citizens who care about their communities.
“I am deeply honored to serve as your ACHD Commissioner,” Commissioner Pickering said. “I want to make you proud, and I will spend the next four years delivering on this central promise: to hear you, to fight for your health and quality of life, and to work my heart out for the people of Ada County.”
Commissioner Dave McKinney, who is representing District 5, has lived in the Treasure Valley since 1991. He holds a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Highway and Transportation Engineering. He also holds the Degree of Juris Doctor cum laude. He currently practices patent law at his own firm and sits on the Meridian Transportation Commission. He formerly served as a Planning & Zoning Commissioner in Utah.
“I look forward to working with the other commissioners, working with the staff and officers at the Ada County Highway District to help this district continue to do what it’s obligated to do,” Commissioner McKinney said. “The mission of the Ada County Highway District is to make it so that the residents of Ada County can get where they need to go. “
Commissioners David McKinney and Alexis Pickering were sworn into office and took part in their first commission meeting on Wednesday, January 6th, 2021.
